Together We Create: Story Sharing Moments Project

The Together We Create project invites people living with dementia and their care partners

from the MidCoast LGA to participate in the Story Sharing Moments program at the Manning Regional Art Gallery. Each session is designed to foster meaningful engagement,

connection, and cognitive stimulation through close interaction with 2D and 3D artworks.

Guided by creative ageing facilitator Lisa Hort, participants will explore three to four pieces

from current exhibitions. Through open-ended questions, Lisa will prompt shared storytelling

and conversation, encouraging imagination, curiosity, and deeper reflection. In addition to

viewing exhibitions, participants will enjoy a unique hands-on experience with selected

objects from the gallery’s collection—offering a rare behind-the-scenes opportunity. Each

session concludes with morning tea, allowing time for relaxed social connection and

conversation. This gentle, inclusive program supports emotional well-being, reduces

isolation, and celebrates creativity and shared experiences within a safe, welcoming space.
