In 2016, I attended Transforming Care for Elders Through Creative Engagement training,
Milwaukee USA, with Professor Anne Basting. On my return to Australia, excited from what
had learnt, I approached the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, with the idea of including a
Creative Ageing Exhibition into the Port Macquarie Artwalk,.
In 2017, I successfully delivered the first creative ageing exhibition titled “Creativity Has No
Age Barriers” in the Port Macquarie ArtWalk. On this success, in 2018, I was instrumental,
through my partnership with the Port Macquarie Museum to have two creative ageing
exhibition included in the annual ArtWalk event.
ArtWalk 2019, The PMHC engaged creative Katherine Appleby and myself to work on the
fourth part of their “Four Seasons in One Dementia Day” grant projects, Autumn 2019:
ArtWalk Animation with the outcome being a collaborative animation called ‘Sunday
Afternoon”
